We have twenty modern caravans available for hire which are well
spaced around the field by Horner Water, with ample room for
cars and for games. They are all serviced with mains water and
drainage and each have their own W.C. and shower. They range
from the one-bedroomed 4 berth to the two-bedroomed 6 berth and
are all perfectly equipped with everything required except your
personal linen and towels. Heating and cooking is by gas, lighting
and a fridge is on mains electricity.
Also beside Horner Water, are two smaller areas reserved for
the accommodation of touring caravans where 10 amp electrical
hook-ups are available. The camping field lies adjacent to the
field where the ponies graze at night and stretches from behind
the stables to the boundary with Horner woods.
Our
facilities are in the timber clad buildings which add to the
character of the site and include:
Flush Toilets - Washbasins - Free hot showers.
"Pot-wash" room with ample hot water for dish washing.
Laundry room with coin operated washing machines, tumble driers
and spin drier. Also deep sink for hand washing and bathing infants.
Well
stocked shop, open daily to serve your needs.
Payphone booth - Chemical disposal points.
We pride ourselves with the cleanliness of the entire site.
Dogs are welcomed but only
under strict control and must be exercised off the site.
T he
farm buildings have been converted to riding stables where the
horses and ponies are a main attraction to many on the site.
We organise escorted rides for adults & children, for the
experienced or complete beginner. So everyone can enjoy to the
full the beauty of Exmoor with the added thrill of being on horseback.
Porlock, 1 mile and a pleasant 20 minute walk away, has three
pubs, and a pleasant range of shops, cafes & restaurants.
Also there is tennis and putting, with sailing and sea-fishing
off Porlock Weir.
Minehead is 5 miles and offers most sporting facilities, an indoor
swimming pool, cinema and the nearest sandy beach. This too is
the home of the West Somerset Steam Railway. We can recommend
a selection of good country Inns in the more outlying villages
of the area. There is freshwater
fishing in many local rivers and reservoirs including Horner
Water, so there is something for everyone to enjoy, even if it
means doing nothing but relaxing in these superb surroundings.
